SMT successfully completes the path – began in January –  to Social Responsibility by obtaining the SA 8000 Certification, the principal benchmark to assess socially acceptable practices in the workplace.

The Certification, created in 1997 in New York by the CePAA (Council of Economical Priorities Accreditation Agency), in 2001 it is internationally accredited by the SAI (Social Accountability International) with the aim of respecting human and worker rights and guaranteeing safety and health in the workplace, as well as eliminating child labor.

“Achieving the SA 8000 Certification – comments Stefano Casini, CEO of SMT – is the result of the commitment of the whole company and is to be added to another of our key principles: the respect for the environment and of the territory in which we operate.

At SMT we believe that our success is the result of teamwork that involves all of us, from employees to collaborators, including our partners. This is the reason why we are committed to continue on the path of responsibility towards sustainable development.”
